First Home Care believes in working to enable children, adolescents, families and adults to receive the care they need — in their homes and communities.

Therapeutic Group Homes

First Home Care operates group homes for youth who cannot function in the family setting but who do not require institutional care or residential treatment.

Supervised by a clinically trained group home staff, the residents are expected to attend public school or work in the community. The group home staff provides individual and group counseling, training in independent skills, and emphasis on responsibility to self and the group.

Our goal is to keep youth involved in their home community as much as possible. Although each program is developed and implemented according to individual needs, as well as licensing regulations, all houses maintain the quality care and clinical accountability that have become the hallmark of First Home Care.

Each component of our group home programs works to promote the youth's progression toward successful reintegration in their home community. In targeting adaptive skills, all of our group home programs provide anger management, conflict mediation, values training, and family life skills sessions. The education, recreation and counseling elements of our group home programs all work to promote youth self-management and the socialization skills essential to a successful and productive future for youth.
